Dr. Thomas Monz can claim more than 15 years of quantum research and development experience in world-wide leading teams. Starting with the experimental realization of ion-photon interfaces, he started to work on quantum computing using trapped ions with a wide range of demonstrations in the areas of quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, as well as verification and validation. After a detour in a Scottish laser company, he returned to Austria and briefly afterwards founded AQT together with two Professors. Focusing on the engineering aspects, his team recently realized a quantum computer entirely mounted inside 19 » racks that are cloud-accessible and has the power consumption comparable to a kettle.
